Two gardens, two mountains and a city
“The Shekinah glory of God (is) the radiance, glory or presence of God dwelling in the midst of His people.” (NBD)
God Balances His: Transcendence – Being above and independent of the material universe – Holy, glorious and distant.
with His; Immanence – His presence and activity within nature, with humans, and in history – Tender, compassionate and close.
Garden #1 – Eden – God with Adam and Eve till the fall – separation from God
Mountain #1 – Moses sees God at Sinai
Mountain #2 – Peter, John, James see Jesus transfigured on the Mount of Olives
Garden #2 – Gethsemane – Jesus prepares to make a way back to God
City #1 – Jerusalem – Holy City – “ Now the dwelling of God will be with men” (Rev. 21:3)
We each have a final destination, we need to help others to make it to the Holy City to live united with God forever
