Ask Anything: Parenting

We’re continuing our Ask Anything series and this week Wes and Viv Guy looked at: Does the Bible have anything to say about parenting? What is the responsibility of others to kids in church? Viv and Wes did a great ‘tag-team’ talk about parenting, the pitfalls, the principles and the practice. It was great to be able to stand at the end and commit to praying for a specific child each and to reaffirm that children aren’t the church of the future but the church of the present.

- The Power of a Praying Parent* (Stormie Omartian) – I have the book of prayer cards and will give an example of a prayer – brilliant because they use scripture and we don’t always know what to pray for.
- What the Bible teaches about Christian Parenting (Roger Ellsworth) – Easy to read and sound.
- Any book by Doctor James Dobson – I have The Complete Marriage and Family Home Reference Guide – Provides a good biblical and psychological outlook on all aspects of family life but is practical at the same time.
- The Sixty Minute Father, The Sixty Minute Mother (Rob Parsons) – Not scripture referenced but full of practical and Christian-based advice.
