Pastors Newsletter - June 2010

Posted: Jul 01, 2010 by Murray Golder

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

I hope you will all agree that we had yet another wonderful ‘Harby’ experience. This morning some of the other church leaders were lamenting the fact that they can never go away together as a whole church because of logistics or numbers of other church matters. We need to rejoice even more that God allows us this unique opportunity to go away together and enjoy all the fellowship, fun and food that we can absorb in a 48 hour period!!
What was your highlight? Mine was the children’s song on Sunday morning (if anyone has a video recording, I’d love to see it again!!) All our thanks to those who organised it, to those who ran it, to those who ably volunteered, and for every and any other contribution made which led to its success. To those who were unable to go, we were aware of your absence and didn’t stop praying for you and that you would also know the love and care of our Lord Jesus in a similar way by the movement of the Holy Spirit during the weekend. I am prioritising putting the Harby talks onto DVD/CD for you so you don’t miss them as they were special and useful for us as a church, and we want to move and grow together.
On the subject of moving, I remain in a state of excitement and anticipation as to what God has been talking to me about and challenging me with for our immediate future. The current vision process is that after our vision evening and feedback to the church we have now refined that further which has been talked through with the Elders and before we go any further we are seeking members input and backing and approval, then we will be moving forward together! Look out for the members meeting on the 22nd July for that opportunity.
Are you ready for the next step? Are you preparing your hearts and minds for what God can do through you? You are part of the body, God has unique plans for you, using your unique character, gifts and skills (even some you didn’t know you had!!) Get ready, keep God at the centre of your thinking and doing, let God lead you and together we will achieve much. An early missionary once said “Expect great things from God; attempt great things for God” — (William Carey)
Perhaps we need to be living in expectation that God has great things for us and live accordingly, if we try with that expectation and anticipation in mind then God will bless the works of our hearts. As we focus on God, that will lead to God’s outcome, as the Psalmist says “Delight yourself in the LORD and he will give you the desires of your heart.” (Psalm 37:4) Let us live in such a way that this is true for us, and let us watch and wait together to see what God will do and how He will use US!

Yours in the love of our Lord Jesus Christ,

With much love,

Murray
