Helen works as a Speech and Language Therapist in Ilkeston. She's passionate about Julia Roberts, Matt and knitting; but not necessarily in that order. She helps run a girls Bible Study Group at church and is keen to see them grow in their understanding of Jesus as well as in their appreciation for chocolate.

Steve works as a Children's Evangelist; helping run kid's clubs across the city and visiting local schools. He's passionate about fantasy and sci-fi and even owns his own replica light saber (obviously no-one would trust him with a real one!)

Viv likes to break the rules. She teaches at a local Secondary school, so spends most of her time with people who do. She's married to Wes so unfortunately for her she can't avoid his jokes! They have five children which keeps her very busy (one is about to get married this summer).

Beryl certainly knows her colours. Color-me-beautiful would go out of business without her! She's also the official church knitting expert and when she's not looking after Ron she can be found passing on her experience to young knitters throughout the church.

Matt spends his days as a Computer Programmer in Loughborough, working for the University. He's married to Helen and lives in the city centre. He helps run the morning service at church and has a passion for Jamie Oliver and designing websites.

Ron is retired but spends more time excercising than most of the church. He has a keen eye for figures (he's the church Treasurer), so he's not all brawn and no brains. He's wise too; he knows that the correct answer to any question Beryl asks is always: "Yes dear".

Wes is known as Wes... because that's his name. By day he lectures in Electrical Engineering, by night he helps lead the church. He's famous for his jokes that only Alan (the church leader) seems to understand. He's married to Viv and they have 4 children.
